When you’re hungry for lunch, you can’t do much bedder than a Macho Mike sandwich from OR’s, dripping with melted cheddar …

On a mildly cool day in Socal, nothing satisfies for lunch like the soup and sandwich combo at Original Rinaldis.  My man Dylan set me up, as usual, with some creamy, New England style clam chowder, complimenting the fully stacked and juicy “Macho Mike”.  Yes, this sandwich can stand up to the most full figure offerings you can find anywhere.  Plenty of lean pastrami, rarefied, perfectly cooked roast Beef, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and the piece de resistance, all that melted cheddar.  Sadly, I had to stop eating and get back to the office, but I’ll be back for more … I LIKE MACHO MIKE!

Say presto, and enjoy the grilled cheese chicken pesto sandwich at The Grindz …

A great way to break up the work day is to partake in the grilled cheese chicken pesto sandwich at The Grindz … juicy grilled chicken, topped with lots of provolone and dressed with some very seductive pesto sauce.  One bite into this impressive, pressed creation and you’ll be completely hooked.  Enjoy this with the always tasty mac salad and a cold dill pickle. And of course, don’t forget the sriracha…

ChabDog Nails Lunch on the Boars Head with Original Rinaldi’s delicious SAMMIE’S HAMMIE …

My son Ben and I had the pleasure of dining at Original Rinaldi’s today.  He made short work of a chicken salad sandwich on squaw bread, while yours truly went for “Sammie’s Hammie”, pictured above.  There’s nothing bashful about this lovely menu item, bursting with flavorful Boars Head ham and salami, along with lettuce, tomato and provolone. Add some TNT sauce and deli mustard, throw in that always satisfying mac salad, along with a cold dill pickle, and you have an unforgettable experience.

Thanks Original Rinaldi’s for a meal fit for a President on President’s Day!

Time to interrupt your daily grind with the delicious Club Salad at The Grindz at 1601…

Satisfying and with great taste, but still kind to your waist… gotta try the good looking Chef Salad at The Grindz … plenty of ham, bacon and turkey, nestled on top of fresh lettuce, tomato and hard boiled goodness.  I did fine without the blue cheese, though many will go crazy for the crumbles.   Salad for lunch is looking like a maaahvelous choice!

Get yourself nice and filled up with the Philly, at where else but Original Rinaldi’s …

Plenty of juicy steak, plus grilled onions and melted cheese is sure to please.  Throw in some ketchup and TNT sauce, and you’ve got a deadly weapon that will nuke your hunger in a Philadelphia minute.

Here’s to you Dylan, for another amazing sandwich creation.  Now give those Eagles some good karma on Sunday!

The Grindz may have Hawaiian roots, …

…. but their kickin Chinese Chicken Salad made my eyes open wide…

Feed your food fetish with this lovely arrangement  — chopped iceberg and romaine lettuce, chicken breast, green onions and won ton strips drizzled lightly with seductive teriyaki sauce, and served with enticing homemade dressing.  Make no mistake, this was a heavy duty portion, and it got taken down with ease.

Great job, Grindz!

When the 1st Alarm bell sounds, make sure you head to Original Rinaldi’s for a truly awe inspiring feast …

This baby was soooo hot it knocked my socks off … and had me begging for more …

Here’s what you have to look forward to –hot and spicy grilled chicken breast, andouille sausage, mayo, jalapeño spread, lettuce, tomato and pepper jack cheese.

I probably didn’t need the TNT sauce, but what the hell, it seems to go with everything.  And the cold mac salad was, yet again, the perfect compliment.

Thanks Dylan for taking such good care of me; I’ll be sure to stick up for you this Sunday when you take on that big Patriot bully pulpit punisher, Maaahk…..

Cross the road for the delicious Chicken Teriyaki sandwich at The Grindz …

This is a healthy choice for lunch that leaves your hunger completely satisfied, while keeping your wallet quite wealthy.  The chicken is perfectly grilled, and is dressed with a terrific teriyaki sauce, along with lettuce and tomato on a toasted ciabatta roll. Add some hot sauce, as well as a crunchy pickle and some creamy mac salad, and you have a meal to remember.

Cross the road to 1601 PCH, Hermosa Beach and discover the excellence of The Grindz!

ChabDog pulls off the pulled pork sandwich lunch at The Grindz … 2 days before Turkey Day

If you’re in the mood for a great pulled pork sandwich, get over to The Grindz @ 1601.  This baby is stuffed with savory roast pork, and comes with melted cheddar, barbecue sauce on a delicious, toasted brioche bun.  Add some srriracha and throw in some mac salad and a fresh pickle, and you have a wonderful lunch.

ChabDog meets Double Decker Sarah at Original Rinaldi’s …. and it was love at first bite!

Thank you Dylan Benharris, for making me that kind of juicy pastrami sandwich that totally satisfies and leaves you longing for more.

The coleslaw is creamy and makes a perfect compliment to the meat, which is piled high in this double decker baby.  I also fell for the melted Swiss cheese, and the lightly toasted rye.

Add some TNT sauce for extra fire, and you’ve got a fully loaded lunch that should be banned in 50 states, … it’s so deadly good!

It’s still early November, and that’s prime hunting season at Original Rinaldi’s…

ChabDog celebrated the weekend a bit early, stopping by Original Rinaldi’s in Manhattan Beach for a mouth watering concoction forced on me by

sandwich summoner Dylan Benharris.  The beautiful creation you see you is known as the Hunter Special — a ridiculously delicious melange

of jerk and chipotle jerk grilled chicken sitting atop lettuce and tomato, topped with gouda cheese and a huge slab of perfect bacon.  With TNT

Sauce and deli mustard, you have what you need for a hugely satisfying sandwich, and I finished things off with the always engrossing mac salad.

Thank you Original Rinaldi’s for a great lunch!

Go to the Grindz in Hermosa Beach for the best burger in town …

Actually, this isn’t just any ordinary burger.  It’s 1/2 pound of juicy goodness, cooked to perfection and dressed with homemade garlic aioli, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese … and the pièce de résistance … a few larger than life helpings of the most tasty, satisfying pieces of bacon you’ve ever had.  This comes nestled inside a fresh, lightly toasted brioche bun, and accompanied with your choice of mac salad or one of the Grindz’s other delicious sides.

Stop by and treat yourself to a burger you won’t soon forget!

Add Original Rinaldi’s Chubby Chabby to your lunch wish list…

Thank you Marc Caruso, for insisting that Original Rinaldi’s come up with this fully loaded weapon of hunger destruction … the “Chubby Chabby”.

We’ve got plenty of roast beef for the cantankerous cabbie, ham for wanna be comedian ChabDog, prosciutto for refined Well-read, and some savory salami for Frank the Tank.

Put that in a toasted bun, with melted mozzarella and some perfectly grilled onions, and you’re set for lunch … and few hours after that.

And thank you to Dylan Ben Harris and everyone else at Original Rinaldis, for making my 5 minute drive over to your culinary paradise a monthly pilgrimage I hold dear to my hear, if not my stomach.
