ChabDog’s Abridged History of the NFL– Sunday and Monday Week 13

  • “Nails” McPherson nailed a few more, and Browning was sizzling.
If not for a somewhat miracle catch and a gadget play that blew a major gasket, this game would not have been this close. Shows you what an experienced back-up QB can do in one week to improve his performance. This guy was accurate, confident, and uncommonly cool under pressure. Maybe the Bengals aren’t really done for this year.
  • Losing Chiefs had their usual beefs with the officiating, but let’s face it, the Packers are up and coming and lately
you guys have just looked flat. Kelce is not involved enough, there is no serious speed at receiver, and the Packers were running
and throwing on you all day… in damaging spurts. Yes, you’re winning the AFC West and going to the playoffs, but what then?
  • Niners had the times of their collective lives. trashing Philly’s Eagles without mercy and casting some doubt on last year’s conf. champion returning to the big game. Maybe this was just an example of a team in need of a bye (or did they already have that?). The team in green just looked a bit hungover and was getting out-physicalled all over the field. Hey Nick, what’s with all those missed tackles?
  • Good overall work by Flacco in a rather remarkable return, but in the end, Aaron Donald had his happy meal, Stafford was
in control and effective and the Rams offense was back in good working order. Rams can, and should make the playoffs, and
    might cause problems from there.
  • Wasn’t it the Commodores who said “I’m easy like Sunday morning….” These Commydores are definitely “Easy on Sunday Afternoon….”
  • Steelers knuckle under to the Cardinals at home for the first time since 1969, but the Patriots are coming to town in four days, and there’s not much time to lick your wounds.
  • Not much took flight in this battle of air powers. Most of the damage happened on the ground, with Atlanta getting its Falcons on a couple of costly Jet fumbles.
  • Saints go down in classic Saints fashion, with Carr going down after leading a frantic and often fantastic
comeback. In the end, the cold truth was a Lion receiver running free and easy, through the NO secondary in the Big Easy.
  •  Chargers taser the Patriots with nothing more than a couple ofdinky Dicker field goals; imagine what Mel Gibson would say.
  • Colts thank Gardner the QB for being there, as well as Ryan T. for spinning the ball the wrong direction on that critical PAT.
  • No CJ wasn’t in over his pay grade, and no Payton didn’t appear to have all the anwers in today’s showdown, particularly at the very end when Denver got so close to taking the lead. These two could meet in the playoffs.
