What we can remember on another violent Saturday in December:

  • Hey Denver, yo, where did your mojo go? The Lions made you look weak, worthless, and stuck in motion that is oh so slow.
  • Steelers continue their slide into playoff irrelevance with a very unimpressive day at the office against the improving Colts. Once again, Minshew came through when his team needed him, while Trubisky did nearly nothing … other than a few signs of life in the first quarter and a quarter. Same problems we all know … zero urgency on offense, no running game, a very limited guy at the helm (both in terms of the field general and the guy calling the plays on the sidelines).
Change is something that the Steelers instinctively resist, but change is needed here in the worst way. Meanwhile, Tomlin does nothing but watch his team’s prospects burn up like Nero watching Rome go up in smoke. So be it.
  • Vikings fall short a few inches on fourth and inches in OT, and then get toyed with by Browning to Boyd. It certainly could be that nobody in the AFC wants to mess with them, come January.
