  • Florimon picks Pirates off the deck in the 15th with a monster triple. ‪#‎Pirates‬ ‪#‎Diamondbacks‬

  • Oakland wins another game, just to prove that they’re still dangerous. ‪#‎Athletics‬ ‪#‎Dodgers
  • The team that used to play at the Stick can still flip the switch; bad news for the Cards when Giants Bumgarner picks up the stick. ‪#‎Giants‬ ‪#‎Cardinals‬
  • Nationals find their offensive legs in the thin air of CO. ‪#‎Rockies‬ ‪#‎Nationals‬
  • Solid effort by Houston strengthens their hold on first in AL West; Marwin is key to Astros’ win. ‪#‎Astros‬ ‪#‎Rays‬
  • Seattle slows down the Rangers behind Iwakuma. ‪#‎Mariners‬ ‪#‎Rangers
  • Kinsler turns killer in Chicago. ‪#‎Tigers‬ ‪#‎Cubs‬
  • Cin’s Chapman commits sin by trying to curve one in, when he should have just thrown the hard cheese. Royals tie it in the ninth and, as usual, win things in extra innings.
  • Red Sox Shaw puts on a hitting exhibition that really sticks in the Indians’ craw. ‪#‎RedSox‬ ‪#‎Indians‬
  • Toronto’s prospects look pretty posh with all that production from Josh. ‪#‎BlueJays‬ ‪#‎Phillies‬
  • With deGrom and Granderson in such fine form, perhaps the Mets aren’t suffering from delusions of grandeur. ‪#‎Mets‬ ‪#‎Orioles‬

3-6-15 Blackhawks 3-6-15 Flames 3-6-15 Pens 3-6-15 sens 3-6-15 Wild

  • Wild find it’s good luck to rub your glove on the Dub.
  • Flames employ a gyrating Jiri to burn through the competition.
  • Penguins break out the big guns to pick off the previously high flying Ducks.
  • Corey Crawford gives Edmonton an education in frustration … stopping 47 out of 48.
  • Sens stone-in-love journey up the standings works out well for Mika and Mark Stone.
  • Blue Jackets use a fast start to undress the Devils.

10-24 Royals 2 10-24 Royals 3 10-24 Royals

In pivotal Game 3:

  • Instead of getting all choked up, the Kauffman kids show up in hostile territory with absolutely no fear and really stick it to the ex-Candlestickers.
  • Bochy doesn’t want to give off an air of desperation … hence his choice to play the Vogelsong in Game 4. But this may be a bad move, as keeping Mad Bum on the bench for even one unnecessary day may be too too long.

For Game 3 in hostile territory, does KC need more defense ….or more hitting?

10-23 Royals 5

Seems more like the latter, so don’t they have to find a place in the field for Billy Butler (first base?/move Hosmer to right?). What seems clear to ChabDog is that the Royals need to avoid playing from behind in SF; they’ll need 4-5 runs minimum to have a decent chance for winning, given the less dominating starters they throw out there for Games 3 and 4, and the fact that they’ll be playing in pressure cooker by the Bay.

Furious day in the NCAA:

  • ChabDog digs Diggs and the terribly fierce turtles.
  • Wild Bill Cody liked playing with the Buffaloes; accurate Cody Kessler has similar preferences.
  • Cowboys declared legally dead in the 2nd half of this beauty, coming down with a debilitating case of horned frogs’ disease. Their passing game completely disappeared after halftime, and Daxx a fact, jack!
  • Gators get way too much for their liking of the return to sender treatment from Missouri, and it certainly looks like Florida may soon return to a life without Muschamp.
  • Marshall is happy because today Cato decided that “Now is the time to fight”
  • Thankfully, Nebraska goes to its smelling salts in time to put down a Wildcat uprising.
  • Sun Devils show they are for real, and Stanford shows it has real problems at the quarterback position.
  • FLA St. and Winston continue their winning ways, when Irish pick the wrong time for a pick infraction. Noles now have a pretty clear path to the final four, as long as their QB stays in place.
  • Give the Razorbacks credit for fighting back and not giving up, but in this one they
just got too far behind by being Chubby chasers.
  • Ole Miss defense has Volunteers signing out, not signing up.
  • Big mismatch in the Big 10 — Ohio tramples New Jersey at The Horseshoe
  • QB Stoudt’s leadership holds Clemson steady in the face of BC’s upset bid at Chestnut Hill.
  • Spartan State is much too much to bear for mild mannered Bloomer boys. Connor cooks the Hoosier secondary for a cool 332 and 3 TDs, while Nick Hills seems to run straight downhill in going for 178 yards on an amazing 16 carries. Maybe Indiana, KU, Rutgers, Colorado, and Wake Forest should form a new conference for schools that are hopelessly football challenged.
  • Crimson Pride rears its fearsome head, as Bama’s Yeldon and Henry break loosa at Tuscaloosa in romp over the Brown Baggie heads. Saban can also take comfort in the coming out party for Blake Sims, who goes for three TDs and passes for over 260. Welcome back to the playoff discussion for the Tide and goodbye to the top 25 for A&M.
  • Sooner or later kicker Honnicutt was going to miss an easy one … but today’s debacle (two short misses and a blocked extra point) was particularly hard to swallow for Oklahoma. Home team falls yet again to their nemesis, K-State.
  • Devontae’s amazing day allows the No. 20 Utes to book another victory in the Pac 12. Utah sets its sights on the conference championship, and the Rose Bowl.
  • Bears fall prey to feisty Mountaineers in classic trap game for No.4 in Morgantown.
QB Trickett torches the Baylor pass defense, and porous run defense combined with plenty of penalties don’t help the cause much either.

10-4 Nats 10-4 Dodgers

A tale of two cities in MLB, as Washington slowly weeps, while LA plays for keeps:

  • Let’s not forget that the Dodgers have their own Matt, and he also carries a big stick at the plate. Kemp gives the baseball a ticket to ride … out the park… and LA leaves for St. Louis all tied up at 1, with a chance to still win this.
  • Brandon’s belt in the 18th pushes the Nationals to the brink of elimination; Washington was 1 out away from victory in the 9th, before a Zimmermann walk to Panik causes Williams to panic and go to the pen. As usual, Posey and Panda figure heavily in the SF victory with timely hits and crucial leadership … notably lacking among the National regulars.
